NAIROBI HOSPICE

Located at Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi Hospice was the first hospice to be opened in East Africa in 1990. The mission is to promote and support acceptable, accessible and affordable quality Palliative Care for individuals and families by creating networks of informed and empowered institutions in Kenya. The institution therefore supports patients and families facing life limiting illnesses especially cancer and HIV/AIDS. On 3rd December 2015, a team from GTBank represented by 17 members from different departments, embarked on a mission to "put life into the days of the patients, and not just days into their lives', by participating in making the 2015 Christmas, a memorable one at the Nairobi Hospice. The Bank donated cash, foodstuff and utensils. Representatives from the Bank were involved in a number of activities including cooking, serving, cleaning, singing and dancing. Addressing the congregation, The GTBank Group Head of Human Resource (EA) affirmed that the Bank was keen to support the less fortunate in society with special focus on Health. This was a joyous moment.
